How did you get into photography?
As a kid, I always thought that being able to freeze time would have been the coolest thing ever. While playing around with my dad’s old Olympus digital camera, I figured out I could do just that. As a Sophomore in high school, I became attracted to the idea of using people as my subjects and being able to capture pure emotion. Finally, I decided to invest in a DSLR.
How do you find models for your shots?
Most of my models have been friends from school, but sometimes they find me.
What is your most proud photo?
There’s no way I can pick just one because each photo has made me feel like I’ve accomplished something great.
What is most challenging for you in photography?
The most challenging thing for me in photography is trying to get the pictures to turn out like I had imagined them to. Sometimes it’s also challenging to communicate ideas to the models because what I visualize isn’t always the same thing that they’re able to visualize.
What equipment do you use?
I currently own a Canon XTI with a 50mm f/1.8, but I soon plan to replace it with a Nikon D90.
Who is your favorite photographer?
I have several favorites, but just to name a few: Lina
Scheynius, Troy Jensen and Eugenio Recuenco.
Any thoughts about your further career, will you be a
professional photographer?
I would love to be a fashion editorial and fine arts photographer working in New York or London.
